I have spent today getting myself acquainted with the nifty little service Instafreebie, which is a pretty awesome way for authors to offer bonus material to readers. Yay! I set up an account, and now there is a little slice-of-life vignette in the Scoring Chances series called Overtime,  which is set immediately after Power Play and before the events of Empty Net. I have it listed as 3.5, and it’s not terribly long, about 4100 words.

There’s a line in the second chapter of Empty Net that inspired this little vignette, but I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll stay mum about that for now and just tell you that it’s basically an excuse for me to write about Isaac and Misha. Writing their relationship quickly became one of my favorite things in Power Play, and features heavily in Empty Net. So I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to write a little something in advance of Empty Net‘s release date (which is September 2nd).

If you’d like to read the story, you simply have to sign up for my newsletter at Instafreebie! And then you can download the file in whatever format you’d like 😀 (And I send newsletters about as often as I blog, LOL, so I won’t spam you, promise.) I would like to do more of these kinds of things in the future, because I love writing vignette things and also, let’s not lie, I love writing Isaac! Also please don’t laugh at my stupid love for Impact Label font, which you’ll notice is on the cover I made for Overtime. (Which, okay, Aaron’s covers are much better!)

Also, I just finished listening to the end of Breakaway on audio, and omg, y’all. I cannot WAIT to share this because the narrator just *killed* it. Scott R. Smith was not only the most amazing Lane, but wait until you hear his Jared. RAWR. I told him I wanted to write a whole other book about Jared just to hear him read it. It was such a neat experience to listen to someone bring my words to life, though if you follow me on social media you’ll know that there were certain scenes I had, uh, a hard time listening to because…well, because listening to someone sort-of act out sex scenes I’ve written may have been the weirdest experience of my whole author!career thus far.

I hope y’all enjoy this free little story should you wish to read it, and as always, thanks for spending time with me and my stories <33

THE SHORT WAS SO AMAZING!!! I love Misha and Isaac’s relationship, every interaction they have is priceless. I cannot wait until September! I am so excited to learn more about Laurent especially, and how Isaac and him handle each other! And more of Misha! I was legit trying to think of ways to start a blog so I could get an advanced reader’s copy just for Empty Net–creepiest blog ever, has one post lmao. Thanks for the short read though! I love these kinds of snapshots with my favorite characters–I hope you do more! Why am I using so many exclamation points?!

Oh NEVER APOLOGIZE for using exclamation points I USE THEM A LOT MYSELF :DDD And haha, I’m flattered!! Not too long now, and I hope you will enjoy Isaac and Laurent’s story — it is my favorite of the series, and so I’m extra-nervous in sending it out into the wild, so to speak. Thank you for the lovely comment (and my apologies for my delay in responding, I’ve been out of town). I am also hoping to do more, I love writing little vignettes so definitely be on the lookout! And writing Isaac and Misha’s friendship was one of my favorite things, so I’m super glad you enjoyed it too!!
