The beginning of the year has started with a bang! I’m afraid y’all are going to be quite tired of me in the coming weeks, as I have two — TWO! — upcoming releases scheduled. Yay, but also, sorry ahead of time if you get sick of seeing my name!!
The first is Save of the Game, which is the sequel to Breakaway and the next in the Scoring Chances series. To be fair, it’s not really a proper sequel in that it isn’t about Jared and Lane (though they do make an appearance or two), but it’s still set in Jacksonville and features the Sea Storm. This is the story of the quiet, calm goalie Riley Hunter — and his new roommate, the loud, tattoo-covered and chain-smoking team enforcer named Ethan Kennedy. Some of the characters from Breakaway make an appearance, but it’s not strictly necessary to read them in order.
(The third book in the series, Power Play, shifts teams to the Spartanburg Spitfires, who you’ll hear about briefly in Save of the Game. We’ll stay in Spartanburg for book four, provided Avon stops writing blog posts and gets the damn draft cleaned up to send to Dreamspinner. Ahem.)
Save of the Game will be out on January 29th. It is available for pre-order at the following lovely places!
The other is a short story called Conversation Hearts, and it is currently available for pre-order on Dreamspinner Press’s website (links to Amazon and other third party sites coming soon!) This Valentines tale is about Levi Barron, grad student — and male escort — and Sinjin, hired assassin, who end up spending Valentines Day in the same swank hotel room in Nashville. This story features way too much banter, quotes from Southern Gothic literature and references to candy. I had a lot of fun writing this one, so I hope y’all enjoy it, too. It’s my idea of romance, so it doesn’t take itself too seriously. And also, there’s candy.
I wanted to thank everyone who has taken a moment to nominate me/my books in a variety of Reader’s Choice awards — I’m truly so grateful for the support and thrilled that people are even READING my books, much less nominating them for things! It’s surreal to see my name alongside some of my favorite authors, and I appreciate it so much!
Hope everyone is having a happy 2016 so far! It snowed here for the first time all winter, and I felt betrayed. I’m already ready for warmer weather!
